Pope Francis sends a message to a Uruguayan diocese marking the closure of the World Meeting of Families, and urging each person to care for their family.
The World Meeting of Families, which took place in the Vatican on 22-26 June, was celebrated in dioceses worldwide, according to the wishes of Pope Francis. The Rome gathering was attended by around 2,000 families from around the world.
At the closure of the WMOF, Pope Francis sent a video message to Uruguay, and in particular to the diocese of San José de Mayo. In his message, the Holy Father offered his greetings and assured each person of his closeness.
The Pope stressed the importance of the family.
The Pope concluded his short message by asking the faithful of Uruguay to strive ahead without fear. Though it is not easy, he said, life is better with family.
Finally, he stressed, “May God bless you. May the Virgin protect you, and please do not forget to pray for me.”
