KUCHING — Food aid and care packs distribution to migrants in 13 locations around the city was conducted by the Ministry to the Migrants of the Archdiocese of Kuching, on Sunday 10 July 2022.
Despite the re-opening of businesses and the economy in general since the start of the year, many migrants and their families in Kuching continue to face challenges of unemployment and limited financial resources amidst rising food prices.
The modest food aid and care package consisting of canned food, eggs, noodles, cooking oil, margarine, coffee, salt and face masks were provided jointly by St Joseph’s Parish and the Ministry to the Migrants. For some groups, children’s milk powder and female sanitary napkins were added to the package.
Volunteers coming forward to assist with this round of distribution included five seminarians from St Peter’s College who are on their 6-month pastoral attachment to the ministry.
A picture speaks a thousand words they say. Let the following photos tell the rest of the story.
