Pope Francis receives Syro-Malabar prelates for their ad limina visit to the Vatican in 2019

Pope Francis names Archbishop Cyril Vasil’, SJ, as Pontifical Delegate to ensure the implementation of the liturgical reform approved for the Syro-Malabar Church.
Pope Francis has appointed Archbishop Cyril Vasil’, SJ, as Pontifical Delegate with special faculties “to resolve the situation of the Archeparchy of Ernakulam-Angamaly of the Syro-Malabars”.
His task will be to “ensure the implementation of the liturgical reform approved by the Synod of the Syro-Malabar Archiepiscopal Church.”
The appointment was conceded to the Prefect of the Dicastery of the Eastern Churches, Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti, on 23 June, according to a communiqué issued by the Dicastery on Thursday.
The statement notes that Archbishop Vasil’ began his mission upon his arrival in India on 4 August. – Vatican News
