KENINGAU – 2020 is rather a challenging year due to the COVID-19 pandemic that caused all pastoral plans and activities to be postponed or cancelled for sometime.
Although the situation has improved, precautions continue to be taken to prevent the pandemic from continuing. Therefore, it was decided not to hold large group activities such as seminars, camps, recollections and so on to curb the spread of COVID-19.
However, the Keningau Youth Apostolate Commission (KYAC) has taken the initiative to organise an online programme that runs from July until December using Youtube, Facebook and Instagram every Sunday, at 2.00 pm.
This online programme is held to reach out to youth with the evangelisation of new norms through the use of Internet and to channel information to the youth to remain faithful.
All planning and preparation of the online programme will involve youths from all the parishes in the diocese, as they will also be given a slot. The content of the programme is in the form of prayers, Novena, acting, dance, singing, youth sharing, etc.
Therefore, youth and parishioners are invited to follow the programme from youth for youth through Youtube and Facebook.
The first online programme began with the Prayer of Divine Mercy on July 5, followed by the ‘Bible Week and 7-Step Bible Group’ programme on July 12.
KYAC hopes that through this online programme, it can cure the longing of the youth to serve in the field of God and be a source of strength and an injection of self-confidence to stay in the faith. – Herald Malaysia
