The Vatican’s Migrants & Refugees Section releases the fifth video in a series exploring the positive impact of migrants on Catholic communities, and highlights the experience of St. Mary of the Lake Parish in the US city of Chicago, Illinois.
“Many Catholic migrants and refugees are revitalising the ecclesial communities that welcome them. Diverse expressions of faith and devotions are an opportunity to grow in our catholicity. How do you think we can better involve migrants and refugees in our communities?”
Pope Francis invited Catholics to reflect on that question in the fifth video of a series created by the Migrants & Refugees Section, a part of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.
The video focuses on the experience of the faithful at the Saint Mary of the Lake and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in the US city of Chicago.
As one member of the parish says, “We see different traditions coming through and it enriches everybody. I think diversity opens your mind.” – Vatican News
