KUALA LUMPUR – Bishop Bernard Paul, Bishop President of Caritas Malaysia has appointed a new National Office Director to spearhead the Caritas Malaysia (CM) and the social mission agenda in the Malaysian Catholic Church.
With effect from 15 May 2023, Fr Fabian Felix Dicom will start his new full-time portfolio as the CM Director for a five-year term as the Bishop President’s delegate.
He will be taking over from Ms Eta Ting, who had managed the CM in a part-time capacity as Executive Secretary, filling the gap left by Mr Charles Bertille.
The Bishop President has made known this new progress in his statement to all Catholic publications in Malaysia dated 10 May 2023.
Bishop Bernard thanked Bishop Sebastian Francis for making Fr Fabian available to the Malaysian Church, and for a greater good.
Fr Fabian Dicom is a priest of the Penang Diocese and has been working with individuals and groups on the fringes of society for the last ten years, reported Herald Malaysia in 2021.
On another note, Bishop Bernard appealed to Catholics of Malaysia to “Be the ‘Good Samaritan’ wherever you are, and wherever you are planted. Work with Caritas Malaysia to “hear the cry of the poor and the earth.””
