KINARUT – In a heartwarming celebration, the Women’s League of St Augustine’s Parish in Kinarut has organized a Children’s Christmas Party that welcomed close to 400 children from various zones under the parish’s care.
The event, held on December 16th, transformed the Parish Hall into a vibrant and historic space, resonating with laughter and the excitement of the young participants.
The success of this event was attributed to the collective efforts of 50 dedicated members from the Women’s League, working in collaboration with the Catechetical and Youth committees. Their meticulous planning and hard work ensured the success of every aspect of the celebration, from decorations to entertainment.
Agatha Gobou, Chairwoman of the Women’s League, expressed deep gratitude to the generous donors, particularly acknowledging the contributions from the Sacred Heart Charity, Archdiocese of Kota Kinabalu, led by Catechist Martina Voo. Their support provided delicious food, refreshing drinks, and festive gifts, enhancing the overall experience for the children.
During her speech, Gobou emphasized the primary goal of the program that was to instill genuine Christmas joy in the hearts of the children. The event featured love-filled gift-giving, captivating art performances, and delightful treats, creating an atmosphere where the young ones could truly experience the warmth and joy of the festive season.

Catechist Martina Voo expressed gratitude to her colleagues from the Sacred Heart Charity, whom were committee for their sincere contributions to make this program successful. She highlighted the importance of every donation as a blessing from God, fostering a sense of togetherness in celebrating the joy of Christmas among children.
The peak moment at that time was the extraordinary performance by the talented children, bringing the festive spirit to its height. Catechist Martina Voo distributed gifts to all attending children. The cheerful smiles on the faces of the children as they received their gifts reflected their joy and satisfaction.
With the conclusion of this program, the St Augustine’s Parish celebrated the success of this event as a reminder of the power of love and kindness that emerged when we unite to spread happiness and joy among children, whom are our future generations.
