KOTA KINABALU – Catholic nurses across Kota Kinabalu hospitals joined the annual Christmas tradition ‘Carols by Candlelight’ organized by the Sacred Heart Parish Cathedral (SHPC) on 17 Dec 2023 at 7.00pm at the Parish Centre.
Rector Fr Paul Lo started the night with a scripture reading from the prophet Isaiah, and followed by an opening speech from the Parish Pastoral Council Chairman, Datuk Bernard Liew.
The organising chairlady, Madam Rosalin from the Catholic Nurses Guild was the person in charge of the Carols by Candlelight which started by the SHPC’s Kids of the Kingdom group, followed by the Catholic nurses from Queen Elizabeth Hospital 1, Likas Hospital, KPJ, JMC, UMS and finally the Chinese-speaking group who performed three songs.
Close to 500 parishioners attended the event, happy and joyful faces were seen everywhere. For the grand finale, the carols ended with the combination singing by all groups.
