KOTA KINABALU – All baptized Catholics were once again reminded of their threefold office of Christ.
This message, which was taken from Lumen Gentium no. 31, was echoed to all who attended the physical English Prayer Meeting Praise and Worship session, the first since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was held at Sacred Heart Cathedral May 13.
The threefold office of Christ, namely the priestly, prophetical and kingly functions of Christ, was chosen as the first session to mark the Easter season, where we are all reminded of our baptismal vows.
The talk, which was shared by the English Prayer Meeting core group member, Joseph Carlos Leong, was a reminder to all members that laity plays an equally significant role even in their routine daily lives.
Leong reiterated that no one’s role is too small and in fact the laity are privileged as we all live in the general community and society itself.
The praise and worship session was led by the core group coordinator, Carlos Cordova, who reminded that the English Prayer Meeting is poised to take place physically every Friday at 8:00 pm, and all are welcome.
