First reading Acts 13:26-33

God has fulfilled his promise by raising Jesus from the dead

Paul stood up in the synagogue at Antioch in Pisidia, held up a hand for silence and began to speak:

‘My brothers, sons of Abraham’s race, and all you who fear God, this message of salvation is meant for you. What the people of Jerusalem and their rulers did, though they did not realise it, was in fact to fulfil the prophecies read on every sabbath. Though they found nothing to justify his death, they condemned him and asked Pilate to have him executed. When they had carried out everything that scripture foretells about him they took him down from the tree and buried him in a tomb. But God raised him from the dead, and for many days he appeared to those who had accompanied him from Galilee to Jerusalem: and it is these same companions of his who are now his witnesses before our people.

‘We have come here to tell you the Good News. It was to our ancestors that God made the promise but it is to us, their children, that he has fulfilled it, by raising Jesus from the dead. As scripture says in the second psalm: You are my son: today I have become your father.’

Gospel John 14:1-6

I am the Way, the Truth and the Life

Jesus said to his disciples:

‘Do not let your hearts be troubled.

Trust in God still, and trust in me.

There are many rooms in my Father’s house;

if there were not, I should have told you.

I am going now to prepare a place for you,

and after I have gone and prepared you a place,

I shall return to take you with me;

so that where I am

you may be too.

You know the way to the place where I am going.’

Thomas said, ‘Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way?’ Jesus said:

‘I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.

No one can come to the Father except through me.’

Reflection
Acts 13:26-33, John 14:1-6

“The joy of trusting in God”
In today’s gospel, Jesus knew that His disciples were afraid of what was to come. He told them, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You trust in God, trust also in me”. These words are also meant for us to listen and believe in. We often encounter moments of uncertainty and situations that cause us to fear. The call for us is to trust in God and to have this inner peace that we are not alone. We are invited to trust in God who will never abandon us but whose heart is open to welcome us always to experience communion and love. Jesus paints a picture of God’s heart as a house with many rooms where nobody is rejected but all have a place as His sons and daughters.

We need to be aware that we do not need to wait for life after death to be in God’s house. Here and now, we are invited to already stay in the house of the Father, and in the life to come, we will be there with God forever. As we go through life with its troubles, may we find comfort in Jesus’ words today as we know that we are in God’s heart. There, we find peace to walk on.

Question to reflect:
Do I place my trust in God when I live through difficult circumstances?

Kisah Para Rasul 13:26-33, Yohanes 14:1-6

“Sukacita dalam mempercayai Tuhan”
Dalam injil hari ini Yesus mengetahui bahawa para murid-Nya takut dengan apa yang akan datang. Dia mengatakan kepada mereka, “Janganlah gelisah hatimu. Percayalah kepada Allah, percayalah juga kepada-Ku”. Perkataan ini juga ditujukan kepada kita untuk didengar dan percaya. Kita seringkali berhadapan dengan situasi yang tidak pasti dan keadaan yang membuatkan kita takut. Panggilan untuk kita adalah untuk percaya kepada Tuhan dan mendapat ketenangan batin bahawa kita tidak bersendirian. Kita dijemput untuk percaya kepada Tuhan yang tidak pernah meninggalkan kita dan yang sentiasa membuka hati menerima kita agar dapat mengalami kesatuan dan kasih, Yesus memberi gambaran hati Allah sebagai sebuah rumah yang mempunyai banyak bilik di mana tidak ada seorang pun yang akan ditolak tetapi semuanya mempunyai tempat sebagai anak-anak-Nya.

Kita perlu menyedari bahawa kita tidak perlu menunggu kehidupan selepas kematian untuk berada di rumah Tuhan. Saat ini dan disini, kita dijemput untuk tinggal di rumah Bapa, untuk kehidupan akan datang, kita akan berada di sana bersama Allah selama-lamanya. Saat kita berhadapan dengan pelbagai cabaran hidup, semoga kita menemukan penghiburan melalui sabda Yesus hari ini kerana kita tahu bahawa kita berada di hati Allah. Di sana kita menemukan damai untuk meneruskan kehidupan kita.

Adakah saya menaruh kepercayaan kepada Tuhan ketika berhadapan dengan kesulitan hidup?

Kereja Rasul 13:26-33; John 14:1-6

“Pengaga ati arap dalam Allah Taala.”
Dalam bacha Injil saritu, Jesus nemu bala Murid Iya takut ka utai ti deka nyadi. Ko Jesus, “Anang tusah ati. Arapka Allah Taala, lalu arap mega ke Aku.” Leka jako Iya tu minta kitai mending sereta arap. Kitai suah ngasaika awak ti bedau tentu nyadi sereta situasi ti ngasoh kitai takut. Kangau ka kitai awak arap dalam Allah Taala lalu ngembuan pemaik ka kitai enda kediri. Kitai dikangau awak arap dalam Allah Taal ti enda ngelengka kitai, tang ati ti tebuka nerima kitai awak meruan ngasaika penyerakup enggau pengerindu. Jesus ngambar ati Allah Taala ti baka rumah ti mayuh bilik endur semua orang diterima nyadi anak lelaki enggau indu Iya.

Kitai patut nemu ka kitai enda ibuh nganti pengidup sepengudah kitai mati awak ulih tama dalam Rumah Allah Taala. Diatu sereta ditu, kitai udah dikangau diau dalam rumah Apai, sereta ba pengidup ti deka datai, kitai begulai enggau Allah Taala belama iya. Dalam pejalai pengidup kitai, awak kitai tetemuka pengelantang ati ari jako Jesis saritu ka kitai diau dalam ati Allah Taala. Dia, kitai bulih pemaik awak terus bejalai.

Bisi aku nyerah diri arap dalam Allah Taala lebuh aku bisi penanggol dalam pengidup?

“信实于耶稣的喜乐”
在今天的福音里，耶稣知道门徒对即将到来的事件是感到害怕的。祂告诉他们，“不要让你们的心烦乱，你们要信赖天主，也要信赖我。”这句话对我们来说也起着重大的意义，让我们去聆听及信实的。我们经常遇上迷茫的时刻及使得我们恐惧的状况。属于我们的召唤是，去信实于天主，并且拥有内在的和平，因为我们并不孤单。我们收到的邀请是，信赖于不曾抛下我们于不顾的天主，而是以开敞的心扉来迎接我们去体验共融和慈爱。耶稣绘出天主心扉的图像，那是一个有着许多房间的大房子，在那里没人被拒于门外，而是都有各自处所来担当祂的子女。

我们必须察觉的是，我们不必等到死后的生命才进入天主的房子。就在今时今日，我们已经收到邀请去进入天主圣父的房子，以及进入来世的生命，我们将在那儿与天主永世同在。当我们经历了生命中的苦难，愿我们在耶稣今天的圣言里找到安逸，因为我们知道我们在天主的心扉里。在那儿，我们寻得了和平，让我们继续走下去。

省思题：
当我活在艰难的处境时，我是否把信赖置于天主那儿呢？
