SANDAKAN – During this challenging time where parishioners cannot gather, a Rosary prayer has been done virtually, through the initiative of the Sandakan Parish Youth Apostolate in collaboration with the Marian Live Streaming Crew on Nov 23 at 8.00 pm.
The parish youth have committed themselves to bring the Church close to the parishioners and to have a strong devotion to Mother Mary, with whatever means, in order to show that the Church cares.
This first virtual Rosary prayer, which was led by PYA assistant coordinator Justine Marcus, invited parishioners to meditate on the mysteries of the Holy Rosary with the following prayer intentions: for the issues faced by the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic, for protection from this deadly virus, and for the care of nature and mankind from self-destruction.
The Rosary prayer was recited in three languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese. During the prayer, the choir was led by Cristopher Aban.
At the event, all lights were turned off in response to the ‘Earth Hour’ campaign with the theme ‘Use Less Electricity’ that is held every 23rd of the month (PROTEC Campaign 31 August 2020 – 31 August 2021). – DOSPO
