ASSISI, Italy – Known as the ‘Cyberapostle of the Eucharist’, Carlo Acutis will be beatified today in Assisi Italy. The tomb of Venerable Carlo Acutis was opened on Thursday Oct 1 for veneration and will continue until Oct 17. The London born teenager was well-known for his zeal for the Lord, love for the Eucharist and the Church and was very passionate about the internet.
The Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, Cardinal Angelo Becciu described Acutis’ exemplary of faith for young people and for all of us, as reported by Vatican News, “He was a little boy when he fell in love with the Eucharist, then he also turned his devotion to Our Lady”.
The Cardinal said Acutis used his talents to spread the faith, “He created a computer project on the themes of faith; he had a site on Eucharistic miracles. So, he lived his faith to the fullest.”
The Holy Mass and Beatification of Carlo Acutis will be presided over by His Eminence Card Agostino Vallini from the Basilica of St Francis in Assisi, broadcast live today at 10.30 pm (Malaysian Time), through EWTN and Shalom World.
