KOTA KINABALU – Fifty-four comprising archbishops, priests, Carmelite nuns and members of the OCDS received their booster shots during a vaccination program held at the Chapel of the St Therese of the Child Jesus Carmel Monastery here Dec 16.
A booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is generally known to help improve the protection after receiving the first two doses.
However, the government has yet to decide on booster doses requirement for “fully vaccinated” status in the country. Taking the booster dose is a voluntary decision for now.
Thanks to the OCDS community of St Therese of the Child Jesus, who prepared the venue and packed lunch, the vaccination program went smoothly.

The service of the Jabatan Kesihatan Awam/JKNS team, comprising Catholic doctors and nurses, and voluntary staff, assisted by members of the Catholic Nurses Guild, was discharged well with SOP compliance as they conducted both the preliminary screening and the immunisation proper. The availability of a voluntary mobile team is taken note of and much appreciated by the KK Archdiocese.
