We give thanks to God for blessing us with nine jubilarians this year. One will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of his episcopal ordination while eight others their 25th sacerdotal ordination.
25 years as an Archbishop – Archbishop Emeritus John Ha, Archdiocese of Kuching
His Grace was born in Kuching, Sarawak and ordained a priest on December 14, 1972.
He was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Kuching on January 17, 1998. His episcopal ordination took place on June 6, 1998.
He was appointed Archbishop of Kuching on June 23, 2003, and installed on July 16, 2003. He retired 14 years later on March 20, 2017 and now resides at CWS Home of Peace in Kuching
Fr Edmund Woon, Diocese of Penang
Fr Edmund was ordained on January 2, 1998.
He is the parish priest of the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows, Penang.
Fr Simon Labrooy, Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur
Fr Simon was ordained on July 6, 1998 and is currently the Rector of College General, based in Penang.
Fr Arulnathan Joseph, Diocese of Penang
Fr Arul was ordained on January 19, 1998 and currently serves as pastor of the Church of St Anthony, Nibong Tebal, Penang.
Fr Saimon William, Archdiocese of Kota Kinabalu
Fr Saimon was ordained at Stella Maris Church, Tanjung Aru on July 6, 1998. He is currently serving at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.
Fr Nelson Joseph, Diocese of Penang
Fr Nelson was ordained on August 7, 1998 and is currently assistant priest at the Minor Basilica of St Anne, Bukit Mertajam.
Fr Joe Matthews OFM Cap, Diocese of Malacca Johore
A member of the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor Capuchin, Fr Joe was ordained on October 7, 1998 in Silibin, Ipoh. He is serving at the Church of Christ the King, Kulai.
Fr Vincent Paul, Diocese of Penang
Fr Vincent was ordained on October 10, 1998. He is the parish priest of the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Tanjung Malim, Perak.
Fr James Rajendran, Diocese of Malacca Johore
Fr James was ordained on December 12, 1998 and currently serves as the parish priest of the Church of St Phillip, Segamat. – Herald Malaysia
